Crash creating new Task, Decorator or Service in Behavior Tree

Sorry if this is a duplicate, but my earlier question/bug seems to have disappeared.

I have a project that I’m just starting to add AI to a character. I’m following Epic’s nice tutorial and, upon clicking New Service to generate the Service BP in a Behavior Tree, I get a crash. I’ve tried New Task and New Decorator to the same effect. I can create a Blueprint for a Service by itself. It crashes when I create it, but upon recovery, I can open up the BP in the Defaults tab, but if I click on Graph, the editor crashes again.

If I try the same thing in a new, clean project, I can successfully create the Behavior Tree and associated Service and it works fine. That made me think there was something conflicting in my project. I disabled the two 3rd party plug-ins (VR and Voice Control) as well as any experimental and BP related options. No luck. I still got a crash, even when I restarted Unreal.

So, I’ve attached a zip file containing all of the pertinent info. Let me know if you need further info.

Thanks,
Alec

Hello,

Could you please cause the crash to occur again and provide the following:

  • If you are getting a crash reporter window, please provide your Machine ID and ensure to hit Send & Close.
  • I’d recommend migrating your content into a clean project to see if the same error occurs (don’t migrate over the plugins). If this works then you can assume it would be something related to those 3rd party plugins.

I haven’t seen this issue occurring on my end, so if you are able to reproduce it in a clean project, please let me know what steps you are taking.
