Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Is there an alternative way to blend masks besides dither temporal aa

Hi guys, I'm trying to create some hair and some glass using masked material and the only way I know to make it blend smoothly between the masked areas and unmasked areas is by connecting a dither temporal AA node between my mask and the opacity ,ask input

but it looks noisy and rough. And I can't use translucent material because it doesn't catch light.

Examples of what I am doing, please see the high res versions so you can clearly see the noise. alt text

the glass has a lot of noise in it because I'm using dither temporal AA This isn't a very good shot but the hair also has noise especially when the character is moving alt text

Assuming he used a mask, this artist managed to do it without noise on his mask, and I'm sure his not using transparent material. alt text

Does anyone have any idea how I can mask my material without the noise that dither temporal aa produces? thanks in advance.

Did you ever solve this? I'm using 4.9.2, so I can't take advantage of the new hair shader, and so far, everything looks super noisy with this method. Thanks.
