Particle changes size when changing FOV in game

Using the First Person demo, I’m using the hit emitter (Blood spray, or “P_body_bullet_impact”) and when I use my sniper in-game (zooming in is done by a timeline changing the field of view)

However, I noticed this causes the particle scale to change drastically, making it gigantic. Along with fog being way more dense. I’m using a secondary camera at the end of the scope that creates a 2d texture so the scope will look akin to a real scope. Yet, I face the issue of particles being scaled way larger than they should appear if I had they been emitted without the field of view being updated in game.

would be nice to see a video or at least some images. too many factors in play to give a short proper answer and not wasting both our valueble time.
