Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

I am currently unable to use the move tool on assets

Hi,

For some reason I am currently unable to use the move tool on assets in my scene. Assets can be rotated, scaled, and even translated if I type in coordinates manually, but the in-viewport move tool does not seem to work. I can move the landscape with the in-viewport move tool, however. I have updated to the latest version of unreal.

Not sure if I've enabled a setting or if this is a bug. Please let me know if anyone knows the cause.

Thank you!

Hello ACMiller,

Can you check the modes tab at the top left of the editor and ensure that you're in the Place mode? The hotkey to change to the Place mode is Shift+1 as well, in case you don't have the window visible. From what you're saying, it seems like you're in Landscape mode since you're able to move the landscape but not assets.

Hi Matthew,

Thanks for your response. I've just figured out the problem- was in place mode but had somehow accidentally set the grid snapping size to 10,000. -_- I am not sure how I bumped that setting but it was basically just trying to align the objects to the nearest 10,000th point, which was their current position. haha

Thanks!

Ash
