Changing Skeletal mesh in VR template

Hi guys,
I’ve just downloaded UE4.13 and have been playing around in the VR template. I’m using HTC Vive and would therefore like to swap the animated hands with the animated vive controller, now the controllers i have in my UE project are currently staticmeshes.

My question to you guys is if there’s any way i could merely swap these so that i maintain the actions currently available in the base VR template? And if so how?
