I’ve followed from the documentation all the steps to add a media file source in the editor and when I try to playback a wmf or mp4 video I get this error in the Output log:
LogMediaAssets:Error: Could not find a native player for file://D:/MOVR/Projects/4.13/bayer360_holopreview_ue4_project/Content/Movies/bayer360_vrce_cebit_360.wmv
It states simply that the media cannot be opened because the “native player” is missing, even if, I am using Windows 10 which still has, or should have, the media player incorporated …
Is this an issue caused by Windows 10 ? Or a bug that can be fixed in future versions of UE4 ?
If somebody knows anything about this issue, let me know, I have to solve this for my job
I’ve fixed the current playback issue. Because I have Windows 10 N, I’ve missed a media player component and I had to download an update fix from Microsoft.
Here is a link on Steam forums towards these updates for other persons who may have this Windows N issue(scroll down for the most downwards comment): link text
