Merged actors changing LOD materials crashes the editor

Hey Epic,

I’m running into an issue where the editor will crash after selecting a different material after merging the actors for one of the lower LOD meshes.

I’m able to reproduce this by:

  1. Placing two identical actors down (that have LOD levels)
  2. Merge them together with all LOD levels selected
  3. Opening up the static mesh editor for the merged mesh
  4. Trying to change LOD1 material
  5. Instant crash!

Thank you for submitting a bug report. I have reproduced this issue and logged a report for it here:

You can track the report’s status as the issue is reviewed by our development staff. I also noted that I wasn’t able to reproduce this issue when I already applied a material to all of the material fields to the asset prior to the merging process. If you do get a crash try importing the asset fresh and applying the materials then merge.
