2D paper: Taking Damage?

Ok, I could really use some help. So i’ve started building a 2.5D platformer from scratch using tutorials from unreal and other sources. Everything was running smoothly with animation state machine I built using tutorials. However when I tried to add in a hit state tied to damage being taken from the character I can’t get it to work properly. I 've gotten the Run, Jump, Fall and Die states working. Can someone please look at my blueprints and help me out?
