How do I deploy the engine to macOS?

I am a computer lab administrator at a university. We have quite a few requests for VR development using the Unreal Engine. From what I can tell the only documented way to install it is to downloading the installer and it will actually download and install the content. I am pretty proficient with packaging on macOS and would like to deploy this to our 250 computers, but ideally in a community-approved fashion. I would also like to find a way to keep them updated without having to repackage every time.
Does anyone have advice/experience?

Hi MGatner,

Unfortunately we do not currently have a simple method for accomplishing what you described. The “normal” method for installing the Engine is through the Launcher, as you mentioned. Unfortunately this is more ideal for individual installations rather than for installing across an entire lab. It would allow the process of updating the Engine to be relatively simple on the individual computers, but the Launcher would need to be run and logged into on each computer.

I am not sure how your lab is structured, but whatever method you currently use to install/update software on the computers in the lab may work as well. We have not done any testing in that scenario, however.
