Weird Shadows / Lightmap on Destructible Mesh, How can I fix it?

I have been playing around with Destructible meshes, But I’ve been pulling my hair out over this weird glitch.

It only seems to appear on destructible meshes, As the source mesh lightmap builds fine.

When I build the light with the destructible mesh, I get this weird cross hatching shadow across it. I’ve literally spent days trying to figure this out, from redoing the Lightmap UVs to placing other light sources etc…

I have made sure that there is adequate space around the UV islands too, at least 3 pixels padding per UV island.

Any help with solving this would be absolutely appreciated! I have included a picture of the weird shadows.

As a side note, I have found a dirty way to “cover it up” by playing more point lights without shadow casting nearby.

If you where able to fix the issue with more lights, it is probably because of a low resolution lightmap. It could also be happening because you have a light that is casting on your mesh at a near-parallel angle; which can cause shadow and light fragmennting.

If you are still seeing the same problem when you bring your DM into a blank scene with a single light, then it maybe an issue with overlapping UV’s.
