"No disk in the drive." when opening games launcher

I let the epic games launcher update today and now whenever I open it I get this error message as if it’s trying to read something from the E drive (which is USB on my computer)

I can just click continue to open the launcher but I imagine this is a bug. Including the [log][2] from when I run it since I imagine that would be useful.

  1. Launch regedit
  2. Goto the following node: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/Control/Windows
  3. Open ErrorMode
  4. Change Value data to be 2 and change Base to be Decimal, and then press ok
  5. Chose View/Refresh from the menu
  6. Restart your computer
  1. Launch regedit
  2. Goto the following node: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/Control/Windows
  3. Open ErrorMode

  5. Chose View/Refresh from the menu
  6. Restart your computer

The problem in no longer actual, Epics should’ve updated the Launcher so it doesnt issue this error anymore. But its better to check twice, thank you!

@ Li 's answer is the best solution but I can’t check it as one of the last Launcher patches fixed this error

It might actually be a connected usb device. I get this message box when I have my printer / scanner / fax / card reader combo unit plugged into my usb port and I open the launcher.

I know this is old but I want to help anyone out there that is still having this issue. After talking with IT at work they have just changed the drive letter of my card reader from e to something higher and that seems to have solved this issue. I recommend all of you do the same before messing with the registry.
