Can't connect to Perforce

Hi there

I have an issue with Perforce. I have been perfectly fine connecting to Perforce in the past with no issues whatsoever. However, when I logged into my project tonight I could not for some reason connect to Perforce.

The provider, server and username is correct, but when I try and select from my available workspaces I unable to do so. The workspace is highlighted in yellow, but when I select it nothing happens. The workspace remains blank and the pop-up seems to freeze. I am unable to select “accept settings” or even “run without source control”.

It now looks to me like UE has frozen.

Any advice?

Thanks

I am not a P4 expert, but try restarting your computer, then opening your p4 admin, check if you can access the files from perforce, then launch UE4

Thanks, for the advice. It hasn’t worked. I have contacted Perforce to see if they have any suggestions.

i have same problem brother and ıt made me sick…

Hello ,

If there were not any updates to your project or engine version, I don’t know if this is an issue with the editor or with Perforce itself. Are you able to open the Perforce client without any issues and checkout / checkin files without any problems? Can you try making a new project, temporarily add it to your perforce repo, and try to connect to source control in that project to see if it may be project specific?

Hi there Matthew

I created a new project and I am able to connect to that project with no problems. However, when I launch my other project (which I already have a workspace for and switch to it in Perforce). I am unable to connect. The window opens to select Perforce and I am able to high light the workspace I want to connect to but even when I click on it nothing happens. It doesn’t change to that workspace at all.

I’ve never seen this kind of issue just randomly pop up, but my first thought would be to clear the existing perforce settings for that project. They can be found in the Project’s directory under Saved > Config > Windows > SourceControlSettings.ini . You can either clear the individual settings or just delete the file.

We haven’t heard from you in a while, . Are you still experiencing these issues? If so, have you tried resetting your source control settings as I mentioned? Was it helpful? In the meantime, I’ll be marking this as resolved for tracking purposes.
