Video render from sequencer Black screen

Hi,

I have been using UE4 for a few animation projects of mine. I have suddenly come across an issue with the video render feature from sequencer. I have a cinematic camera set up and it works fine when i play my camera cuts in sequencer. But when I export the video, I just get a black screen. I haven’t had this issue with the other scenes I have rendered out. Any ideas?

Solved! The levels I had streaming in were set to Blueprint. Had to change it to Always loaded.

Where DId u change it to always loaded sir?

Go to Window > Levels. That should bring up the Levels tab. It will show all the levels you have streamed in. Right click the level and you’ll see Always Loaded.

Default Streaming Method> Always Loaded wasn’t showing for my sub-level, searched a bit to find I needed to uncheck Enable World Composition in World Settings first. Now I’m seeing that my black frames aren’t entirely black, see just a hint of specular reflection on a waterplane object in the scene. So, why might my scene not be rendering with full Lit mode?

Do you have reflection actors in scene? It might be that they need rebuilding

I don’t, but the reflection off the waterplane object threw me a tip; all my lights live on Persistent, so I wondered if maybe I needed to first load each of the other sub-levels containing all the geometry (sections of cave) before Render, shocked to discover these sub-levels no longer existed under the main level! The only sub-level remaining was the streaming sequence level. How could these disappear? They still exist in the Content Browser, which to my understanding is the only place to delete them, can’t delete from the Levels window. Stranger yet, how can all the objects in those sub-levels still appear in the Canvas if no associated levels appear and are loaded in the Levels window?!

I’m suspecting my project may have gotten corrupted by a different issue, UE4 has been crashing with very little provocation when I move my SpaceMouse, see GPU 1080 temps at 90+, which is unusual for this PC. Could crashes from a GPU problem cause a UE4 project file to become corrupted? I’m restoring from backup…

Thanks for your thoughts.

Solved. With the lighting in Persistent and the sub-level set to Always Loaded, the lighting from Persistent wasn’t able to load. Duh. I’m left questioning what motivated me placing just the lighting in Persistent, serves no purpose, need to rethink the functionality in levels generally.

Holy ■■■■ you literally saved my career! Thank you!

i tried all above with UE 4.27 but still black screen with png output… then i delete PostProcessVolume now the render is ok…

This wasn’t my post, but your answer helped me a lot, thank you very much!

it keeps rendering a black screen

please help when I render it keeps rendering black screen

Your thumbnails is also black in your photo so make sure the camera cut tracks properties is set to the camera you want. Right click on Cut Scenes track and look for properties.

You can refresh the thumbnails with one of the options.

Try turning off auto expsoure in project and display and set up cinecamera for the exposure.
