Why is my Unreal Editor not opening?

Hi there,

I am doing a retro style game and when I click on my sprites in all of my projects or any material, the editor is not opening for editing. It opens a blank window.

I am suspecting my graphics driver to be a problem, since I updated a night before to the most newest Nvidia driver on a GTX 970. The driver update is version 372.90.

I’m not sure what to do. If some one know what the problem is please reply.

Hey Marios-

Can you post a screenshot of the window that opens when you click on your sprites or materials? Also try creating a new project and let me know if you see the same behavior there. Additionally, if you believe this may be related to your drivers, please try reverting the drivers to what you were using previously and let us know if you still have this issue.

Thanks for the quick reply.

This is what happened on my existing project (image 1 ppp.jpg)

And this happends on the new one. (image 2 ppp2.jpg)

The problem is the same on both projects. It shows that there is a window opening but you cant fully open it. Also Unreal crashed on me for the first time since installing it.

Might be windows size issue, try selecting that window from taskbar and then press Windows Key+Up to maximize it

Thanks for your prompted replies.

Clicking on the window then “Windows key + Up” does not work.

I was looking at reverting back to my previous Nvidia driver but it was automatically uninstalled.

So know I’m trying to figure out which one it was.

It seems like it was the Nvidia Driver update 372.90.
I’ve reverted back to my previous Driver 368.81 and Unreal is working fine and so is the Editor.

Hope people find this helpful and not upgrade to Nvidia version 372.90 until its fixed.
