Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Why is my editor crashing on launch?

Hello, I am running into an issue when I click the launch. It goes to the project menu to open/ create a new project but then immediately crashes and gives the following report

We apologize for the inconvenience. Please send this crash report to help improve our software.

Just wondering if anyone know about this, I have sent the repot and have uninstalled and re installed UE completely 3 times now.

Hi cbennett2121,

Is this the first time you have ever tried to launch the editor? (have you ever run it successfully before?)

Can you please export your Dxdiag report, and upload it here as an attachment?

This is my first time trying to open it so I have not been able to open it successfully yet.

Is this the dxdiag report you are referring to? If so, I am aware that the 2.2ghz is the default clock speed of my CPU. Be aware thought that my CPU overclocks on my laptop when needed so that shouldn't be an issue. link text

Thanks, that is the report I wanted. I see that you have an integrated graphics card in the Intel HD Graphics Family. If your card specifically is an HD 3000, then there is a known case where these cause the editor to crash. We have found this to be resolvable by updating the graphics card to its latest drivers, so I suggest you try this.

Please be aware however, that even if you can overcome the crash, your hardware does not meet our recommended requirements and you will most likely not have a very good development experience.
