4.13.1 Saving a level using "save as" breaks lightmaps, lighting needs to be rebuilt

To reproduce:

  1. Create new project.

  2. Add a static or stationary light and build lighting.

  3. Play to see that lighting is built.

  4. Save current level.

  5. Save As a new level.

  6. Play to see lighting needs to be rebuilt.

It also happens when duplicating the level in the Content Browser.

Has something changed with the way Unreal handles lightmaps? Duplicating and Save As worked in 4.12.5, though I never tried it in 4.13, so unsure if this is new with 4.13.1. I am creating a cartoon and was using Save As to create each scene based off a Master. Having to rebuild lighting for each scene would add hours to my schedule…

Hi PMonga,

I’ve submitted a ticket for this one to be investigated. You can follow the status here: Unreal Engine Issues and Bug Tracker (UE-36660)

Just for clarification if anyone else stumbles into this issue as well it is not specific to 4.13.1 and did occur with 4.13.0 as well.

Thank you for reporting the issue!
