Regression in DBuffer Decals material preview

Hi,

here is a sample project https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0atPna9kPYkUHhIa004eFVqR1E/view?usp=sharing

The project is created in 4.11 engine version.

  1. Download blank 4.11

  2. Open Material’/Game/Decals/Winter/Materials/m_dc_win_IceSpot_01_01.m_dc_win_IceSpot_01_01’ asset

  3. Observe that material is rendering correctly.

4.13 part:

  1. Then download blank 4.13.1, open this project and navigate to:

  2. Edit->Project Settings->Rendering and set DBuffer Decals to true

  3. Restart the editor

  4. Open the same material as above

  5. Observe that material is broken.

Hello ,

I downloaded your project and am getting almost opposite results you are reporting. When I opened the 4.11.2 version I got the results below without changing any settings.

I decided to enable the Dbuffer Decals as it was disabled by default when I opened the project within this engine versiont. After restarting and compiling the shaders the decal rendered as expected. I then upgraded the project to 4.13.1 and got the same expected results.

I would try restarting your project one more time and also make sure you don’t have any extra settings checked/unchecked causing the decal to no longer render.

Let me know if you have further questions or need additional assistance.

Thanks,

2 images are better than my description:)
