Licence for recorded animations in unreal engine

So I might want to record an animation that I made in unreal engine but it will be commercial .Is the license the same?Do I have to “pay Epic 5% of gross revenue after the first $3,000 per product per calendar quarter”?

Thanks for your time

If the end product is a commercial, it is linear/non-interactive. If that’s the case, there is a royalty exclusion under the EULA for all linear/non-interactive media.

What if the product is linear but has the most minor element of interactivity? Most VR films, for example, may require subtle interactivity that the audience isn’t even aware of (such as delaying action until the viewer is looking in a particular direction). Thanks!

We’re pretty strict on that point; even a little interactivity counts.

Thanks, So the “linear/non-interactive” criteria is “And” not “Or”? It’s written ambiguously.

Yes, linear and non-interactive

Great, thanks for the clarification.
