[Bug] "Loading Visual Studio" toast doesn't vanish

The “Loading Visual Studio” toast in the bottom right doesn’t disappear after clicking on a source file in the compile output of the log window.

Build info
Version: 1578757
Install Path: C:/Program Files/Rocket

Specs
OS: Windows 8
RAM: 8 GB
Graphics Card: GT 540M w/ 2 GB
Driver: 310.90
UAC: Off

Repro Steps

  1. Open a game project with some code.
  2. Open the code, and add a compiler error.
  3. In the editor Compile.
  4. When it brings up the error in the Message Log, click on the file with the error.
  5. Visual Studio Launches, but the toast telling you this never goes away.

Results
The toast never goes away on its own. I did find compiling again will force it to disappear, it will say “Loading Visual Studio Failed”.

Expected
It should load Visual Studio, then disappear.

Hello,

I’m not able to get the toast message to never go away but it does stay around for a very long time. I’ve gone and placed that into our bug database.

Thank you!

Hello, is there a way of checking out how’s the bugfix going on?
I’m just now experiencing this issue, it might’ve popped up again, or was just not fixed… “Loading Visual Studio 2017…” - it’d be fine if I was able to hide it in some way, it doesn’t go away unless I turn off UE4 while keeping VS up, and then restart UE4, though.

I have also run into this problem and Ijust started using the Unreal Engine. (Version 4.17.1)
I hope this gets sorted out because, according to the history on this page, this may have been an issue for months.

So, was there ever a fix found for this issue? I’m experiencing this issue now as I type…
