no AO anymore on unlit viewmode with Mac version ?

Hello, I noticed that the AO on the unlit viewmode doesn’t work anymore since version 4.13 on Mac version.
Is there a solution ?
(I have a Mac Pro with GeForce GTX 980 Ti on Mac OS 10.11.6)
Thanks a lot.

EDIT : Closed for “too subjective and argumentative” ? I don’t know who is the most subjective here.

I’m not looking for AO, I’m just asking if a sort of “geometry mode” can be added to the unlit view mode like in many softwares. And this AO bug was similar to that for me.

Hello IBREC,

What you were seeing in 4.12.5 was actually a bug, and the way it behaves in 4.13.1 is the expected outcome. The unlit viewmode should not contain any sort of lighting or shadow information.

If you go to our 4.13 Release Notes you can find a bug fix that states: Fixed an issue where SSAO was being applied in the Unlit viewmode.

Let me know if you have further questions.

Thank you,

Really ?
Oh… It was very usefull however, to distinguish the meshes without build light or lit viewmode.

The option to enable / disable AO, showed on my screenshots, worked fine on 4.12, even in unlit mode.
So why it was a bug ?
I don’t see it like a bug. This needs to be a feature. ^^

You can still use the Buffer Visualization > Ambient Occlusion to view the AO of your scene.

Like I mentioned before, the AO was removed from the default Unlit Mode as it should not be visible. It is a representation of the scene without lighting, and Ambient Occlusion is a lighting feature/technique.

Thanks,

Yeah I know but Buffer Visualization is very laggy when the map is not built.
And you can’t have the “color” or Diffuse of the meshes with it, to have a speed preview of the global level design.

Actually, it can be very usefull to distinguish geometry of the meshes on unlit viewmode, specially when they have the same diffuse.

Many software have a sort of geometry viewer in the unlit mode.
