Is there a fix for Googles LibPNG issue on the Launcher Version of Unreal

Right now, the updates for my app are getting rejected on the Google play store because of the vulnerabilities of the LibPNG libraries. I know Unreal is aware of the issue and have put out a fix for people who use the Github version. I was wondering if there is a fix for the Engine version. Preferably 12.5 . I know a fix is coming with 4.14 but i was wondering if that fix would be implemented for older versions of the Engine. I can’t upgrade to the latest versions as load times of maps for mobile games is like 4x as long as normal.

Hi Janel,

There are no plans to do any additional hotfixes for 4.13 or previous versions of the engine for this issue. If you need a fix you can grab it from the forums thread and integrate using a source build of the engine.

If you’re only planning on using a binary version of the engine this fix will be included with the 4.14 release. Since the fix has been provided for you to integrate and this only affects a select group of developers we have left it up to the individual developers to integrate themselves.

Thank you!

Tim
