Lightmaps not working

Hi everyone,

I’m having a big issue with static lighting, and I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Here’s a pic with dynamic lights…

…and this is what happens if I change them to Static Lights and build the lighting…

I just don’t know why it looks so flat and horrible. I thought that it may be because I’m using the Rama’s ISM plugin for Instanced Static Meshes, but I disabled it, and this still happens (the last pic is an example of what happens if I still use the plugin with the flat walls and build the lights). I think I should be missing something quite basic/obvious (probably with the lightmapping), but I’m lost with this.

I would be very thankful if someone could help me!

I want to add that it would be perfect if I could solve the lights issue that I have with the ISM plugin (this plugin is quite useful in this project)!

Hi there,

Have you tried bumping up the lightmap resolution? And have you seen what happens when you put the lights to stationery? As this may solve your specular issue.

Let me know how you get on.

Did some quick search - it seems that static lighting only bakes shadows and supplies no specular detail (so this is why it could be looking flat in you image). So like I said change the lights to stationary.

Wow, really thank you! I bumped the resoultion of some lightmaps and changed my lights to stationary, and now everything looks much better!

Now I have some issues with weird shadows and similar stuff, but my main problem is solved! Thanks!
