Modifying Landscape at runtime

UE4 Newbie here!

I know I’m unable to modify a landscape at runtime from another forum post.

What I’d like to do is have a replacement, and I need any suggestions that could help.

The target ideal is that I want to raise a hill in a flat landscape by clicking on it, and have it steadily grow over time.

What I’m guessing is that I’d have to create a ‘landscape’ alternative divided up into separate ‘blocks’ that are interconnected with the blocks around them, and have those blocks tied together and lift with each other.

At the moment I’ve managed to create a block and set it up so I can fire a projectile at it and have it expand in size whichever way I want. However, I worry that the whole idea of using blocks is that the land won’t be smoothed out. The blocks around the one I’m pulling would have to morph with the one I’m clicking on - I assume.

Can anyone please point me in the right direction. There are a ton of tutorials on how to use the landscape editor but I just can’t find anything (after two weeks of searching) that can help me raise and lower a hill at runtime.

I am now looking forward to Cubiquity for UE4. I’m hoping it will have all the facilities I need…hoping… So far it looks like it’s coming along well (and no I’m not affiliated with them) - but it might be worth checking out as something to include with the engine…

Cubiquity seems to be fading away. Although Matt Williams may be still working on the project, it seems that it isn’t a priority for Volumes of Fun any more.

So now I still wait for what seems to be the holy grail of Unreal Engine.
