Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Broken .umap file and autosaves

For the last few months I've been working on a map, but somehow I broke it while working on it. When the map is loaded, all that happens is I get a message saying that the map appears to be an asset file. I tried loading old versions of the map from the Autosave folder, but these files wouldn't load either. What can I do to fix this?

Did you work on it through a modeling software? In that case, you can rightclick on the file and there should be something called "Asset Actions" that lets you "Export" the file so you can use it again.

No, I never exported the file to another program. All the objects were placed using the UE4 editor, so exporting the file doesn't work.
