Does linux dedicated game server works the same or better then windows?

I am building dedicated game server with up to 64 players per match. I plan to host it on the cloud. Platforms are Windows; Xbox and PS4 are planned.
Are there any information on Linux vs Windows dedicated UE4 server productivity, stability and maintenance difficulty?
As for Windows Server I have to pay additional license fee, Linux server is more preferable.
Does anyone have experience in this from released game ?
