shadow flicker on some meshes and some mesh / spline bp

shadow flicker on some meshes and some mesh / spline bp. Lighting is already built. I increased streaming poolsize to1500 but problem remains… if i set shadows to low quality the flicker stops happening.

This is a constant very very fast repeating flicker that does not stop.

Hey kurylo3d,

As per usual we need a way to reproduce this in a new blank project. With that said, it is hard to visualize the flickering shadows with static images. Can you potentially record a video or some other form so I can visualize what you are experiencing?

I notice you have a precomputed visibility text on your screen. Are you using precomputed visibility, and have you added the precomputed visibility volume if so?

Do you have any guess as to what you believe could be causing this, so I can have an idea where to begin looking?

Let me know if you have further questions.

Thanks,

Hey Andrew,
Dont mind the precomputed visiblity… its there, just the camera isnt low enough to the ground to take advantage of it … floating too high in the scene.

I have no idea what could be causing this… ive seen this in other scenes… on dynamic movable skeletal meshes and static meshes.

I can guess and say that sometimes when i build i see it less. Other times the build does nothing for it…

here are 2 video links… 2 examples for you… 1 a blueprint mesh and another a skeletal mesh character.

That looks very similar to the effects of Bounds Scale. Especially since it seems to be happening when the object reaches the edge of the screen. Have you attempted to modify the Bounds Scale of your meshes to see if that helps?

If those meshes have been scaled in anyway, they could be exceeding their bounds at those distances, but it is hard to tell.

I have moved this out of bug reports as I do not have a way to reproduce this issue in a new blank project. Once you can provide to me the information I have requested in order to reproduce the issue on my end, we can continue to investigate this as a bug within the engine.

Thank you,

A previous post of mine… the bounds are fine.
