How can I import animations with bone scaling?

I have a set of animations which use a lot of bone scaling, making parts of the mesh appear to “breathe”.

When I import these animations into UE4 however, the bones do not appear to scale.

To anyone having a similar issue - I solved it by adding a tiny bit of translation to a bone (in my case, I made a mild hip sway) and it imported fine. It would still be useful to know if there is another way around this however.

I had this before. I remember bone scaling had to start at 1. So your default scale must always be 1 and then I could scale from there in my animations no problem. Will test it again tonight and give feedback.
