4.2 Project Input Settings Lost On Convert

Just installed 4.2 and converted a project up from 4.1. At first I thought I lost all of my changes for adding crouch, but then I realized it just lost my Project Settings for crouch in Input section as shown here after I put it back in. No big deal, but thought I would pass it along, just in case someone else had run into same issue.

No, I didn’t set the “set As Default” portion. What I did is just set to open project using 4.2 and I converted files right there. Like I said, it’s not a big deal, but I didn’t know I needed to make adjustments ahead of conversion. I had a backed up copy anyway, but it was a real easy fix after I realized nothing was lost in blueprints and it was just this setting.

Did you set your Input to be default [Set as Default] before update?

Thanks for report!

If you open project in 4.1.1, does it retain your settings? Can you walk me through steps you took to convert your project? I have not been able to reproduce this issue so far, and would like to find out what’s causing it. Thanks!

I’m glad it was an easy fix! But just so I can figure out what’s causing it, can you tell me:

  1. Did Convert Project dialogue pop up with 4 options?
  2. Did you choose Convert in-place option?

Thanks, just trying to narrow it down.

Hate to say it, but I don’t remember 4 options, but I do remember selecting Convert In-Place, which did produce a warning, just letting you know to make a copy first.
