4.2 svn problem

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

Are you running via the downloaded version or are you running a self-built version from GitHub?

It looks as if you are somehow missing the SVN binaries - can you verify if they are present in the \Binaries\ThirdParty\svn\Win64 directory?

The problem is occurring on my mac

+1 we have 3 macs with this problem there is only ImgTec and Mono in the ThirdParty folder

Installed using update on OSX, missing thirdparty stuff too:

Yep having the same problem. Looks like third party stuff is missing from the build. I did an upgrade from 4.1.1 on OSX

Hi,

Previously we were relying on the versions in Xcode and we switched to building our own for 4.2. Unfortunately as you can all see 4.2 for the Mac is missing the svn binaries, we are in the process of fixing this. I apologise for the inconvenience.

The QFE is now available here:

Cheers!

QFE app file appears as damaged. Had to show packages and drag out the svn folder manually from the patch folder. Note this on Yosemite OSX 10.10

I got the same QFE error.

I can’t fix the error from home and I haven’t a clue what it is, but you can still fix your svn problem. Right-click on the QFE app and select ‘Show Contents’. Inside the Contents/Resources/Engine/Binaries/ThirdParty folder you’ll find the svn binaries folder that you are missing. Move or copy the svn folder to the Engine/Binaries/ThirdParty folder in your UE4 4.2 install. That should fix your svn problems.

I found a fun workaround by accident. Copy the unreal application file under the applications folder onto the desktop. Copy the QFE patch app to the desktop. Show contents for both app’s. Drag the QFE contents into the Unreal app contents. A dialog will pop up asking you if you want to overwrite the content folder. Select overwrite all or equivalent. Then the blue unreal app icon will turn black. You can now double click on the black unreal icon that should be on the desktop, and it will install the patch lol.

1.8 does not work with the cloudforge svn servers. They are still at version 1.7. Is there a way to have UE4.2 use svn 1.7 again?

We may revert to 1.7.x, or we may upgrade to a later version of 1.8.x. It seems the issue is client-side (and in this case Mac-specific), with the HTTP library in 1.8.x sometimes having issues with various server/proxy configs.

ETA on solution? We are sitting ducks here. Thanks!

We are not looking at shipping a fix for this with 4.3 at the moment, but we may be able to provide a hotfix. Again, no ETA at the moment, but we should know more once we have shipped 4.3.

ETA yet? Were stuck in the water here.

Apologies for the delay.

We have added SVN 1.8.9 to the current internal Mac build. I am waiting on a reply as to whether we can include it in a hotfix.

Unfortunately the fix was made too late for a 4.3 hotfix, but we will have it ready for 4.4 (which is coming in very soon, we may have a preview release ready by next week).

Great work guys. Thank you very much for keeping this on your radar! Much appreciated!
