How to export keyframed tree with with particle system

Hi. Since I do not like UE4’s wind material, I made a tree in Blender which uses a tree generator, called sapling. This generator will build a tree and create a wind armature animation for you, which looks more believable then UE4’s method. It does create leaves, but it is very limited in customization, so I used a particle hair system to attach my own twigs. Everything seemed to work until I noticed that you loose the animation connection of the twigs, after converting a particle system to a mesh. I realize that this has to do with the conversion of the particle system not adding the bones to the mesh, therefore being unable to parent the twigs to my tree. I hate to add my own bones one by one, as this would defeat the purpose of using the particle system. Does anyone know how I could resolve this problem?

Blender particles can’t be exported to Unreal like that unfortunately. You would probably have to add the bones yourself.
