Bad screen layout on cardboard

Another cardboard applications works fine on my device. How to achieve standart layout without this cross on the left, and gear icon on the bottom?

Could you give me some additional information please.

Is it a phone problem or this is the changes from 4.14? May I be the one with this kind of screen layout? The screen usage looks a little bit inefficient here.

Other applications from market use standart cardboard layout on my phone. Could someone else check this and complete Google VR quickstart with 4.14?

To my knowledge, there is no way to adjust how this is on the phone. The images from the documentation you point to is using an older build where I do remember the gear icon being between the eyes. This must have changed at some point.

I’m also looking for the solution to this problem. I have some apps that put the gear in the bottom center, no X. Is this a setting that must be configured on the phone? Or is there a .ini setting that could get rid of these?
