since yesterday anything in the engine that lets you preview a mesh , shows a pitch black screen . i mean Static mesh viewer , skeletal mesh viewer , preview window of the material editor , even physic asset editor , they all show a pitch black screen .
I know mesh is there , since i can turn on wireframe mode in static mesh editor , and see that the model is actually there , or i can turn to unlit mode in skeletal mesh editor and see the model , but in lit mode , everything’s pitch black !
When i place the mesh in the world , it is all well and good . but other than that , blackness .
Just for the sake of clarification , this is not a lightmap issue , since everything including skeletal meshes or static meshes shipped with the engine is black . anyone know what is going on ?

notice what i have selected in the content browser , and what it is showing when i double click on the selected mesh . everything is pitch black except the grid ! it is just like the main light of the previewer is turned off somehow . is it even possible to turn off this light ? did i do anything that i’m not aware of or this is a bug ?
