How to add assets from the vault to a new project, when it says they allready excist

Hello everyone,

I bought a simple town assets pack today that is compatible with engine 4.11- 4.13.

I have created a new blank blueprint project that I want to add the assets to. however, when I click the project I want to add it to it says “replace files” even tho they do not exist within the project yet. if I click replace it immediately fails to add the assets over.

Any ideas on how to fix this problem ?

Sorry for the delayed response. I ran a test on this using the the Infinity Blade: Grass Lands asset pack and added it to a new Blank Blueprint project, and the assets seem to have been added successfully. Would you be able to try adding the Infinity Blade assets (you can get these on the Marketplace for free) and see if you can add those assets to your project (or a test project if you prefer not to add them to your project)?

Was the pack that you purchased the Simple Town pack by Synty Studios?

Thank you for your reply. I have added the Infinity Blade: Grass Lands to my project fine, I have also added other assets from my vault just to make sure. however I am still unable to add the Simple Town pack to my project.

I wrote a comment on there asset pack, and it seems someone else is having the same project adding it to a 4.13 project as well. I am using 4.12.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the asset pack, but it does not change anything

Thanks for the confirmation. I will see if I can get someone to do some testing with that specific asset pack (I don’t currently have access to it).

After some initial checking, it looks as though the Simple Town asset pack uses some assets that are included in the Engine’s Starter Content when creating a new project. Do you recall if you included the Starter Content when you initially created your project? If you make a test project without Starter Content, are you able to successfully add the Simple Town assets to the project?

We also noticed that after being prompted that files would need to be replaced, if we opened the project the assets were actually added to the project. Do you not see the Simple Town assets at all in your project after trying to complete the replacement process?

Thank you for looking into this matter for me. Yes when I created the project I added the started content, I was going to use some starter assets for my final year project for my first mock up. I will try creating a new projcect tomorrow without the started content and let you know if it works.

Also when I was adding it to a project with starter content after it came up with the failed message I opened the project just to make sure. All of the folders for the small town are there however, there are no assets in any of the folders.

By any do you know what starter content is used within the small town asset pack? Could I delete these out of the starter content and maybe use them together?

Generally the Starter Content packs are present with the asset packs in their entirety instead of broken down to individual components.
