No shadows after baking lights

Hello! I hope I’m not posting this question twice. i accidentally closed my browser and I think it canceled my question post. Anywho, I’m having some trouble with shadows under my orange lounge chairs. After I bake the lighting it loses the shadows on the ground coming from the can light above. Although when it’s in preview mode, or when i break the lightbake by changing the cone angle of the spot light slightly, the shadows show up again. (I will post pictures) I tried to change the attenuation radius to encompass more of the area around the chair and also changed the intensity of the light but I still get the same result. Should I be changing the lightmap resolution for the floor and the chair to a higher setting? Thanks for all your help and again I’m sorry if this posts twice.

Is the chair object movable? That might cause it not to cast static shadows. I would also recommend using stationary lights if possible, rather than static lights. They generally look quite a bit better.

Hi,

There is a setting called ‘Cast Shadow’, this should be under the section ‘Lighting’. In my project I see this setting for each Actor in their Details section. I am not sure if there is one global setting for all objects. Enabling shadows is done using this ‘Cast Shadows’ setting.

Hope this helps.

Thanks so much for your help! I changed the spotlight to stationary and changed the lounge chair to a static object and it worked! Your the man! or woman. Thanks so much though!

Happy to help!

Hi!

Thanks so much for taking time to help me out! I found that setting and it is checked on. I forgot to mention before that the object is actually a blueprint I made so that I can change the materials of the chair in game. That being the case I had to change the SM properties for the chair under Transform and Mobility. Switching the Mobility option to Static instead of Movable fixed the shadow issue.
