how to import meshes with multiple id's with out a material

I am trying to import meshes that have multiple IDs assigned to it. Think of a chair as an example. Its one piece of geo with the legs ID #1, the cushion #2 and the arms ID #3.

Is the only way to see the IDs in UE to export the fbx with a mulitsub material on it? I thought the mesh should up with the IDs regardless?
