Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Release Preparations and Stuff.

The Community Manager of the UE4-Forums told me to aks that questions here:

I stumbled across this: https://www.unrealengine.com/release

Now i have some questions, that are not answered there.

  1. Where to put the EULA? (Ingame? or is it enough to put the Document into the games Folder?)

  2. Do we "need" to put in this UE4-Logo/Intro-Video when the game starts? (the current one really does not fit the game in any way, can we use the UE4-logo instead?)

  3. "Add the following to your Credits " - Where to put it, if the game has no credits, would it be okay to write it a the bottom of the screen in the Menu?

  4. Unreal related Trademarks? (what are these?)

I really have problems with what is written there, maybe someone can "simplify" and clear up that Lawyer-Speech.

Thank you!.

This is the thread that belongs to that question: https://forums.unrealengine.com/showthread.php?130863-Release-Preparations-EULA-and-Stuff&p=635678#post635678

Currently i put the EULA into the main menu, with a "first-launch-popup" and the "uses ue4-sentence" into the bottom right corner of the main menu-screen.

Is this okay, or what do i need to change (since it is not written on that page)

Thank you!

  1. Regarding where to put your game's EULA, there isn't a hard requirement on this point. Sometimes developers make a user click through prior to play, sometimes it's linked on the platform store, and sometimes it's just included in the download files.

  2. Under the EULA, you're actually not permitted to use the UE4 logo/intro video without an additional trademark license.

  3. If your game has no credits, I think putting it at the bottom of the menu suffices.

  4. That's referencing if you want to use the UE4 logo/intro video; that's how you get the trademark license.
