[VIVE] Terrible Performance on GTX1080!

Testing Mitch’s VR Content Examples @ Github, I am unable to achieve the required 90fps even in the near empty Intro map that simply has a msg telling you how to load the levels. I did notice the r.ScreenPercentage is set to 280. Is that a recommended setting? lowering to 200 just about let’s me get 90fps, but for an empty map, it still seems excessive. setting to 100 doesn’t appear to give a direct 1:1 pixel density as I expected, making everything overly blurry/low res. Am I not understanding this setting properly?

I have a rock solid stable OC’d i7/gtx1080 system that has no issues playing anything at ultra settings, often even in 4k downsampled to 1080p, but this empty map brings my system to it’s knees.

Is it just me or do others have the same experience? Any advice/suggestions?

With a screen percentage of 280, your computer is rendering a resolution of 6048x3360 pixels.
That is a massive amount of pixels and I wouldn’t be surprised if even a 1080 couldn’t run a basic level over 90fps.
Most VR games run a screen percentage between 100-200 depending on how heavy the graphics are.
