Unable to run packaged project on Rift CV1

Hello,

I’ve packaged my VR project for shipping but when I run the EXE I get strange behavior. If I run the EXE with the -vr flag, only one eye on my Rift CV1 renders and the other eye is black.

I also tried executing the “stereo on” command in the console but that didn’t fix anything.

Everything works in VR preview in the editor - just not with a packaged project.

Any suggestions? I’m using UE4 4.12

I have a few questions for you that will help narrow down what issue it is that you are experiencing.

Quick questions:

  1. Can you reproduce this issue in a clean project?
  2. If so, could you provide a detailed list of steps to reproduce this issue on our end?
  3. Could you provide screen shots of any blueprints/settings that may be involved?

One important fact I forgot to mention is that we’re using a custom build of the engine with VXGI technology and VRWorks from NVIDIA.

I built a clean project with our custom engine build and we see similar behavior: only one eye renders and the application crashes.

However I built a clean project on the default 4.12.5 engine and everything works fine.

Therefore the issue seems to be with our custom engine build. How do you recommend debugging this issue? We have our custom build on Github and we can can add you to it if you’d like to take a look at it.

We do not provide support for unofficial plugins. I would suggest contacting the creators of the code that you are using to modify the engine for assistance in debugging and fixing the issues that you are seeing. If/when you find and solution to the issue that you are seeing, Could you update the post with any information you may have on this issue. If so, that could be useful for others facing the same problem.
