Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

How to model can lights? Mine look like glowing donuts

I'm trying to model can lights for an apartment and can't get them to look right at all. They don't need to actually serve any lighting purposes but just look correct when the player looks up. I currently have a simple cylinder hole with a spot light inside but this results in glowing donuts. I attached a picture of what i'm looking for. Any suggestions would be great! I haven't found any useful tutorials but if you know any good youtube videos that could help that would be awesome too.

Thank you! Second time you've helped me out. This was exactly what I needed.

I think in the lower image they have plane instead of a hole. On the plane you can add the emissive glow. Just the lights aren't enough I think.

Add a small plane to your cylinder instead of a hole and assign a material to this plane. Add the glow and it should work as intended.

Kind Regards

The lower picture is actually just a photo of light bulbs off google images but youre still right. The donut model wasnt the best way to do it. Thank you!
