Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Shadows looking splotchy on terrain

Well... I've been working on a map for my game. The problem is that every time I build my lighting I get these weird splotchy shadows. When I go and un-click cast shadows and re-click it it becomes gorgeous again. Please give me an idea how to get the prebuilt shadows to show after their final lighting build!alt text

These are the good shadows before I attempt to build them. alt text

And after :'((((

Let me know what you think!

Check out this awesome lighting guide I found to solve this problem: https://wiki.unrealengine.com/LightingTroubleshootingGuide

There is a specific section on splotchy shadows near the bottom. For me, I had bad lightmaps, so "force no precomputed lighting" in the world settings as described in the beginning of the article worked for me. Really, you should read the whole guide as I think great lighting is a holistic approach.
