Android Packaging Cook Failure

I have an AMD Phenom II cpu in my desktop. I am trying to learn the Unreal Engine for Android. I created a third person project with default settings. The project runs into an unknown cook failure. There is a window’s event for the ispc_texcomp.dll as a faulting module. I’ve included both error events. The other error is very vague because no file is listed.

I’ve replicated the same setup on my Intel i7 laptop and it runs fine with the same phone as the target device.

Please advice any way you guys can. Thanks

Spysmily1,

Could I please see the full error output log from the editor itself? Please upload it as a .txt file.

Thanks!

I’ll have to wait until I get home. Is there an output log saved somewhere or do I just copy and paste.

Thanks

Are you able to provide the information yet?

there maybe problem with installation or installed files gets corrupted as per error1.png and error2.png photos

My work trip was extended so I haven’t been able to run it on my desktop at home yet. As I asked earlier, is there another output log besides the one I posted above or do I need to copy and paste the output window.

C:\Users.\Documents\Unreal Projects\TESTING\Saved\Logs\LOGS.txt or just copy and pate them from the output window into a word document.

Thanks!

Sorry for the lateness. Busy holidays and business travel. Here is the log.

I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled twice now. Same issue.

Delete your Intermediate, Saved and Build folder from your project and try to package again. Let me see the logs if you run into another error.

Hey Spysmily1,

We have not heard back from you in a few days, so we are marking this post as Resolved for tracking purposes. If you are still experiencing the issue you reported, please respond to this message with additional information and we will offer further assistance.

Thank you!

I clean installed windows 10 in the meantime. I installed Unreal Engine again and created a blank third person project. Still had the same issue.

I was then at the point we had previously spoken so I deleted those folders and ran the project again. Now the Unreal Engine crashes every time. Logs attached.[link text][1]

I need to see your Android settings:

Could you also upload the screenshot from the Unreal Engine 4 crashing? I’d like to see the crash reporter window.

Thanks!

Mind you this is the exact same setup on 2 other PCs that correctly cook and package the apk that runs on my phone.

Everything on all 3 computers is the exact same for file directory and versions of ant, sdk, ndk and java. The only difference is I have an AMD cpu in the one that doesn’t work. The 2 laptops I have are Intels. The only reason I’m pointing this out is because of the error caught by the event log in windows directed towards ispc_texcomp.dll which seems to be intel related due to a higher directory being called IntelISPCTexComp.

On the two other computers, are the filepaths identical? Is your Android NDK updated from android-ndk-r12b to r13b on your other computers too? If not, please change it back to r12b and it should package for you.

Could you please upload your dxdiag for the AMD computer that’s having trouble and at least once of your Intel computers?

Are you able to replicate this issue with a newly created project on the AMD?

Are you using Vulkan??

I can’t do the dxdiag right now because I’m on a road trip.

I can’t run any new project. I just create a new project for third person with nothing added. This works on the other 2 laptops with Intels but not my desktop with AMD processor. I’ve reformatted this computer with a fresh install of everything with the same results.

I have the Vulkan runtime libraries installed but not sure if I’m using them. I’m just running a third person project with nothing added besides the defaults.

When you’re done with your holiday, please provide what I’ve requested and we’ll try to see what’s going on.

Thanks!
