Cant restore Undocked Window with hidden tab

Hi, I recently ran into a bug, where if you undock a window and hide its tab, one cannot restore it back. What I mean is, I cannot unhide the tab, neither can I dock it back again. I found a post where “ra_ar” posted similar bug and it made me feel bad that a bug from 2014 hasn’t been fixed yet.

Here is the link to the post:

Best regards

Hi ,

I’ve submitted a ticket for this that you can track here: Unreal Engine Issues and Bug Tracker (UE-39859)

The workaround for this issue if it’s blocked you in anyway is to use Window > Reset Layout to go back to the default configuration and reset these windows/panels that have been hidden and cannot be moved/unhidden.

Thanks!

Tim

Hi, Thank you for submitting the bug. I tried resetting layout. it did reset my layout to default but the undocked window is still not resetting to it’s default position. It is the viewport for Animation window.

Thanks for pointing that out. I’ve added that to the ticket as well.

For anyone looking for a direct solution, try undocking another window and dragging it onto the window that is stuck. After doing this I was able to use the locked window’s tab and dock it back where it belongs.

Hope this helps!
