Normal Decals showing as black / wrong direction

Hey guys. I’m trying out these decal blend modes, and I’ve run into something odd. As you can see in the attached pic, the normal decal shows black when orientated the correct direction, but seems to show correctly when pointed the opposite.

All I’ve done to set this up is taken one of the normal textures from the starter content, put it into a new material and set it to deferred decal with the blend mode to “dbuffer normal” then another material with the decal blend mode of “normal”

Did you ever find the solution to this? I’m having the same issue.

Yeah. It’s still behaving like this for me.

I still have this probleme on 4.21 and 4.27 :\ Have any solution? edit: And now I tested on UE5 and get the same result.

Sorry to Nerco this post but I found the solution. You have to disable Tangent space Normal with in the Decal options directly. This box here.
