Unreal Engine downloaded, installed but not launching

I know this problem seems dumb, but I downloaded my Epic Games launcher, download UE 4.14.1, installed it, then clicked “Launch”, it told me to wait, then said “Launching”, then told me to wait again and brought back the “Launch” button. I waited around 20-30 minutes: no response. Then I re-tried clicking “Launch” and got the same reaction. I tried closing & re-opening the launcher, then completely re-installing the launcher, re-installing the same version, installing another version… Still the same result. I thought it was because I only have 8GB RAM, but as it says here: 8 GB is OK if you’re running Windows.

Also I tried running it on Linux before, and it actually worked quite well for me, before I noticed there was no launcher for Linux and I couldn’t download anything from the libraries/marketplace etc.

I’m running Windows 8, 8 GB RAM, AMD Radeon HD 8670M video card.
