Hello Mulldoon,

I have a few questions for you that will help narrow down what issue it is that you are experiencing.

Quick questions:

  1. Can you reproduce this issue in a clean project?
  2. If so, could you provide a detailed list of steps to reproduce this issue on our end?
  3. Could you provide screen shots of any blueprints/settings that may be involved in this issue?

Q1) when it first happened it was basically a new project, but as i said it only happens half the time.

How i do it is
1)Import a video
2)create media framework player
3) create vidieo and sound textures
4) create material from the video texture
5) create a widget
6) ad a button,
7) set the material to the video material
8) create a media player varible
9) widget contrsuct event open media source (set the video and connect the media player varible)

  1. in level bp create widget and add to view port

Half the time it works, the other time the video freezes straight away and then the engine crashes

Thank you for the additional information. However, I was not able to reproduce this issue on our end with the information provided. Could you provide a sample project that reproduce this issue so that I could take a closer look?

This is a blank project that is the same as the original crash code. But as i said sometimes it crashes sometimes it doesn’t.

Blank Project ZIP File

I have run several tests on the project provided, however I am unable to get it to crash. Are there any additional steps needed to get the project provided to crash? Could you provide the complete callstack that you are getting when you experience a crash (including machine ID)?

it hasn’t crashed on me since i started this thread, however i will restart the thread if it happens again.

I am happy to hear that the issue has not occurred for you anymore. I will be converting your last comment the answer until you have more information. As you stated above please feel free to reopen this issue with a simple reply containing any additional information you may have and I will be happy to assist you further.
