Why do most engines not work so well?!

Hello there!

I had many problems starting many engines. First I couldn’t open Cryengine. Then I moved to Stingray, and I was able to open this engine, but now, I wanted to try the king, the best, the professional, unreal engine 4. But I couldn’t open it. Same thing happened as in Cryengine. I click on the start button, it says loading, and then the start button restarts into “Start”. Does the engine open? No. Help me, stop my suffering.

Because engines are typically designed for use in a specific game, adapted to fit others, and then marketed as a means of producing additional profit.

The popularity of games the creator make with those engines are what promote sales, while successful titles by unrelated developers using the same engine are almost unheard of.

Epic took the alternate route, centering on the engine itself, and allowing what Others make with it to serve as promotion.

.

What [start] button are you having problems with?

You should have an icon for Epic Games Launcher. It will ask you to log in… download the engine, then open a sort of dashboard you can use to browse tutorials/downloadable content or to [launch] the engine itself from the section called Library.

If you can describe what is happening it would go a long way to figuring out what is wrong.

… Just “won’t open?”
There is no error or anything?

What? No! I’m a game developer, I make games mate. So I have the engine launcher “Epic Games Laucher” and then i wanna open up Unreal Engine 4.14.1, but the launcher won’t open it

I got this already, I looked into my system and itseems like two .dll files were missing. Thank you for the help though.
