Help! Mac OS can't install any engine

My software info:
Mac OS 10.12.2

Xcode 8.2

Command Line Tools macOS 10.12 for Xcode 8.2

EpicGamesLauncher 2.12.14-3176191

I can’t install any engine, the “plus” icon is gray, I can’t press it.

Try these troubleshooting steps:

  1. In the Launcher, scroll to the top to the Engine Library
  2. On the icon for UE4.14, select the down arrow of the yellow button
  3. Select Verify
  4. Allow UE4 to verify the installation of UE4.14 then try and launch
  5. IF this does not resolve the issue…
  6. Go to the install directory on the drive you installed UE4 on
  7. Locate and delete the DerivedDataCache folder
  8. Try Launching UE4.14 again

Let me know if these steps do or do not resolve the issue.

This appears to be an issue strictly with UE4.14… Please try downloading and installing UE4.13.2 and let me know if it installs correctly.

If it crashes, please be sure to hit the submit button on the Crash Reporter pop-up window.

4.12.5 was installed, but it crashed during launch, please check the log.

You obviously have either filesystem corruption or hardware problems with your main drive.

If it’s filesystem corruption, booting off the install partition and doing a repair disk may help.

If it’s hardware problems, then you’re going to need a new drive.

Either way, I encourage you to get as much of your stuff onto backups as you can ASAP.

I have formatted the install partition and reinstalled Mac OS.
Xcode worked, everything is ok, except ue4.

If the Add Versions window is grayed out, then likely it is already in use as shown in the following link:

I can’t install 4.7 from the launcher

Use the dropdown arrow to select which version you would like to install.

I have tried all the solutions, I have tried reinstall launcher, engine, but editor still crashed during launch, I’m really tired.

Please provide these additional logs:

  • The UE4.log (Located: ~/Library/Logs/Unreal Engine/Editor/)
  • The ProjectName.log (Located: ~/Library/Logs/Unreal Engine/ProjectNameEditor/)
