Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Gear VR submission issues - Please help!

Hi Folks -

I've tried following the guides and have made a signed APK wich worked - as it was accepted by Oculus when I uploaded my VR app to be tested. Now unfortunately they returned to me with a list of issues which seemed to be centered on the game not starting properly and showing the UE logo and not doing anything else. It's hard to tell as it's in a screwey 3d image on the gear but I think it's this message.

The gearvr platform does not work with OBB files asaik - make sure to tick:

"Package game data inside .apk"

in the android settings.

Also tick the following in the project settings:

"For distribution" (to be sure it's signed correctly)

&

"Create compressed cooked packages" (to reduce the apk file size)

It worked thanks @AussieBurger.

It has been reviewed and there are a couple of other issues with it now - one of them being that it dosen't work on the Note 4 - Does note 4 need to be supported anymore- I thought I had read that it dosen't even fit into the headset so why support it?

Back when I submitted my app they gave the choice to 'remove' Note 4 support - this is pretty common I believe for the more high performance apps.

That's interesting - Was this something you discussed with them or is this a checkbox on the submission form somewhere?

It was a discussion. Things weren't as automated back then as they are now...
