It installed ok but when I open Epic Games Launcher it says it’s downloading (I assume updating the launchers files) but will get stuck at a random percentage. You can sometimes see a Red Triangle ! flash, or where the MB downloaded amount is, or the percent complete if it’s close enough to the next percentage, it will roll back. It seems like it may have downloaded something because the amount of the download is smaller than the first time I tried. I have restarted my system since install.
try the git version
Either it was a holiday hiccup or setting the download chunks to “1” for the launcher seemed to fix it.
In “C:\Users[your windows profile name]\AppData\Local\EpicGamesLauncher\Saved\Config\Windows\Engine.ini” file I added the following lines:
[Portal.BuildPatch]
ChunkDownloads=1
I’m thinking it has to do with my shoddy DSL ISP that doesn’t even guarantee the service I pay for @ 1Mbps.
