3D Widget Performance VR

Hey,

noticing a huge performance impact from 3D Widgets. Testing in VR with HTC . A single widget increases frame time above 11ms.

  1. Make new project, choose VR template
  2. Make new actor, add WidgetComponent
  3. Set WidgetClass to on of the Unreal VR Editor tutorial widgets (option…)
  4. Place actor in world
  5. Play with HTC and see framerate when looking at widget

I gues the impact from a 3D Widget should not be as huge?

4ghz octa core, 32gig ram, GeForce 1080 (newest driver 376.33)

best regards

EDIT: might be grafics card related. 2 PCs with GeForce 1080 have that problem, not occuring on a PC with GeForce 1070

Hello

I was unable to reproduce this issue on our end. Could you provide an example project that reproduces the issue on your end along with the exact method you are using to determine performance?

Same thing happens to me on a 980ti. FPS drops to 45 when looking at the 3d widgets, 90 fps when not looking at them.

Thank you for the additional information. With that I was able to find that this is a known issue. I have provided a link to the public tracker. Please feel free to use the link provided for future updates.
